I am a clinical psychologist dedicated to supporting people with eating disorders and body image issues, as well as trauma and relationship issues. I work with adolescence and adults both in person and via telehealth. I have over 20 years’ experience working in the eating disorder field, including The Melbourne Clinic Eating Disorder Program and The Royal Children’s Hospital Eating Disorder Service and have been in private practice for over 16 years.
My therapy approach suits people who have tried therapy before and achieved some changes but have struggled to maintain them. My approach also suits those looking to develop a deeper understanding of themselves. I use Schema Therapy, EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy and somatic skills to help people link the impact of past challenging and traumatic experiences to their current beliefs, feelings and coping behaviours. I am very passionate about ensuring that you feel better about yourself on a gut and emotional level, not just a rational level. I also believe that therapy can be fun, and laughter is often heard coming from my room. I am known for being relatable and human.
As a supervisor and trainer, I feel privileged to support health professionals to find creative and innovative ways to work with complexity that are intuitive, fun and tailored to a person’s needs. I am energized by complex presentations, including eating disorders and trauma and encourage supervision to be a launching pad to build your confidence weaving trauma informed ideas into your established practice.
Outside of my loved role as a psychologist, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I also love shopping, travelling, dancing, a good murder mystery and going to the football.
